New YouTube video takes viewers behind the scenes of the annual High Point Furniture Market at Historic Market Square as interior/exterior design expert Charles Hanlon leads tour.

A new YouTube video featuring interior/exterior design expert Charles Hanlon takes viewers on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Antique & Design Center at North Carolina’s historic Market Square.

Recorded during the annual High Point Furniture Market, the video follows Charles Hanlon Tampa as he leads attendees on a journey through history and art, exploring 17th century furniture, 20th century jewelry and everything in between. The nine-minute video debuted Monday and is filled with hands-on examples of Hanlon’s fantastic eye for pairing the antique with the contemporary – among other examples, the veteran designer explains how a 19th century ship’s cabinet would look great with a modern set of chairs.

“This cabinet looks sort of industrial, but it’s got this classic motif,” Charles Hanlon tells tour-takers (and video-viewers). “This would look really cool if you had some over-the-top French chairs on either side of it, or some black Regency chairs. It’s just a really great piece.”

A familiar face to viewers of the popular morning talk show “Daytime” (syndicated throughout the southern states), Charles Hanlon has provided expert residential and commercial design services through his private design business, CR Hanlon Designs, and his family’s business, Mayfair Antiques, for more than 20 years. A regular at antiques shows throughout the South – including popular shows in Nashville, Tennessee, and Palm Beach, Florida – Hanlon is known primarily for his tailored blend of old and new.

In the Antique & Design Center video, Charles Hanlon explains how even really simple stuff like lamps and glass jars can make a “great conversation piece” and offers several outside-the-box design suggestions, such as using an antique saddle table as a wet bar.

The designer – who’s scheduled to present a fine selection of 18th and 19th century antiques, as well as numerous paintings from the 1960s, at Avenue Show’s “Antiques, Art & Design at the Armory” this September in New York City – also shares several personal anecdotes, including his habit of walking through the same antiques shows three or four times.

“I’ll walk by and buy something, and in an hour I’ll walk by again and [the sellers] will say, ‘You just walked by, you didn’t see that?’” he tells his audience. “You get distracted. Sometimes you have to go through three, maybe four times … there’s a lot of interesting stuff!”

Charles Hanlon also spends time in the video visiting with other exhibitors from the annual High Point Furniture Market, who happily discuss their furniture, antique jewelry and other fine-art selections. Such tours are custom-made for Hanlon, whose claim to fame as a designer has always been his unique ability to seamlessly combine antique and contemporary styles.

“Blending antiques and modern styles to create a unique look is what I love most,” Charles Hanlon said. “It’s much more involved than simply matching colors and patterns. I really enjoy the challenge of finding two styles that might be completely different but ultimately work beautifully together. It all starts with selecting the finest pieces, new or old, so appearing at events like the High Point Furniture Market is an absolute joy … you never know what you’re going to find!”

The Antique & Design Center video is actually the second YouTube video to highlight Charles Hanlon’s design expertise. A 2008 video replaying a segment from the “Daytime” program takes Charles (and viewers) on a back-stage tour of O8O Studio, a boundary-pushing modern design company specializing in new and unusual residential interior designs. Among the unique objects discussed in that video are acrylic chairs, enormous steel doors spinning on a center axis and acrylic-and-steel sliding doors.

“Being able to discuss these different works of art and show viewers not only how beautiful they are, but how well they can work together, is a lot of fun,” Charles Hanlon Florida said. “I hope people find them both entertaining and educational!”

About Charles Hanlon
Charles Hanlon from Tampa Florida has been an in-demand interior and exterior design expert for more than two decades. Charles’ unique eye for blending old and new styles has served him well as the founder of Tampa-based CR Hanlon Designs, as a consultant for his family’s business (Palm Beach, Florida-based Mayfair Antiques) and as a regular contributor to the syndicated morning talk show “Daytime.” A resident of Tampa, Florida, Charles Hanlon is a part-time karate instructor and avid fitness enthusiast.

European adult processing firm turns to Online Reputation Management after one of its American clients charges its innocent customers unwarranted fees.

A European adult processing firm recently turned to Online Reputation Management after receiving negative online press when one of its American clients, an adult film store, charged its customers groundless additional credit-card fees.

The adult processing firm, a leader in its field, serves both European and American clients, it specializes in setting up payment processing for adult businesses that need to accept credit card transactions.

Recently, the European firm’s manager, Wagner, discovered during a routine Google search that negative comments were written about her company in various blogs, review Web sites and complaint Web sites.

“I was really surprised to read the comments customers were writing,” said Wagner. “I honestly had no idea what everyone was speaking about, customers kept mentioning ‘unwarranted charges.’”

The unfavorable feedback caused a decline in business profits, resulting in Wagner deciding to change the company’s name and turn to Online Reputation Management.

Online Reputation Management repair specialists created a strategic approach to Wagner’s “complicated” situation.

“It isn’t easy when someone posts negative reviews that stem from no where, the negative reviews tend to multiply into hundreds of negative reviews that eventually lead to a loss of profits,” said Online Reputation Management founder, Ed Eshel. “The Internet is a wild animal, fortunately, we know how to tame it.”

Online Reputation Management used their detective skills to decipher Wagner’s situation. The repair specialists discovered that one of Wagner’s clients, an American adult film store, charged its customers with groundless additional credit-card fees. The adult film store’s customers received their monthly bills and saw the additional charges, so in response, those customers immediately blamed Wagner’s company and posted negative reviews.

“I was shocked and very angry,” Wagner said after learning of the situation. “My company is extremely honest, we charge reasonable varying rates and amounts pending on the service. In this case, the film store charged additional fees to profit on behalf of their customers.”

Since Wagner changed the name of her company, Online Reputation Management repair specialists stressed the importance of maintaining her clean reputation, the specialists designed Wagner’s business Web site and implemented a public relations stint to promote Wagner’s renamed adult processing firm.

In addition, the online repair specialists exposed the adult film store’s shady practice, which resulted in all its customers, who were overcharged, to receive a full refund.
